Connect Stripe with Frienton

Connecxt Stripe with Frienton

What is it about?

The video shows how Stripe is linked with Frienton and why this is important. Stripe payments can then be automatically booked correctly all the way through to accounting and tax. The Live P&L immediately shows Stripe transactions and fees as they occur.

Key contents

1️⃣ Why connect Stripe?

  • Stripe bundles customer payments into so-called payouts (batch disbursements).
  • Stripe fees are deducted before payout.
  • Without automation, matching invoices, payments, and fees is time-consuming and error-prone.
  • Frienton solves this via a Stripe API integration and DATEV interface.

2️⃣ Create Stripe API key

  • In Stripe under Developers > API keys create a "Restricted key".
  • Only the following permissions are needed (read-only):

○ "Balance transaction sources"

○ "Credit Notes" (for credit memos)

○ "Invoices"

○ "Charges"

○ "Customers"

  • Assign a key name (e.g. “Stripe Key”).
  • Create the key and copy it to the clipboard.

3️⃣ Link Stripe in Frienton

  • In Frienton under Settings > APIs & Integrations select Stripe.
  • Paste the API key and save.
  • After linking:

○ All Stripe transactions appear under Multibanking > Stripe.

○ Invoice documents appear under Bookkeeping > Documents.

○ Stripe fees are shown in the Live P&L and get booked automatically.

Summary

Frienton's Stripe integration enables fully automated transfer of payments, fees, and invoices into Frienton. This reduces manual effort and ensures live transparency over fees and error-free accounting from payment through to tax.
