Benefits & onboarding for tax accountants

What is it about?

The video shows how tax firms can work optimally with Frienton and efficiently onboard clients.

It explains how the setup is carried out, which steps are important, and how DATEV is connected.

Key contents

1️⃣ Onboarding clients

  • Coordinate chart of accounts and booking accounts together with the client
  • Select chart of accounts (SKR03 or SKR04) under Settings > Business
  • Keep categories as simple as possible – “as little as possible, as much as necessary”
  • Align categories with the client’s business plan
  • Hide categories that are not needed to reduce complexity

2️⃣ Migration for existing clients

  • Transfer debtor and creditor numbers once
  • Ideally carry this out before uploading the first receipts
  • Can be booked separately as a service

3️⃣ Setting up access

  • Clients add the tax firm as a user (Settings > User Management)
  • Assign the tax advisor role
  • Define permissions and restrictions (e.g. bank access, payments)
  • Multi-client capability: manage several clients with one login

4️⃣ DATEV integration

  • Order DATEV Buchungsdatenservice
  • Define SKR type, taxation period, and duration together with the client
  • Enter DATEV client and advisor number in Frienton (Settings > Business > Tax details)
  • Activate the interface and transfer data to DATEV (Tax > Closing > Reports)

5️⃣ Collaboration & workflow

  • View transfer logs in the history
  • Upload and share tax reports and annual financial statements centrally
  • Add comments to transactions and documents – these are transferred to DATEV
  • Track booking corrections in Frienton to improve the automated workflow

Summary

Frienton supports tax firms with structured onboarding and enables continuous, automated collaboration – from account and credit card connection to transfer to DATEV.
