Question:
How can I correctly post recurring transactions without invoices in Frienton?
Answer:
If you have regular recurring payments based on contracts but without a separate invoice (for example rent, leasing, or membership fees), you can use automated document matching in Frienton.
Procedure:
- Upload the underlying contract into Frienton
- Make sure the document type is set to “Contract” (adjustable in the document settings)
- Mark the document as “recurring” in the document settings
- Link the contract once with the first matching transaction
- Frienton will then automatically recognize all future transactions belonging to this contract and link them independently
Important notes:
- For automatic matching to work reliably, the transaction reference should contain a contract or customer number as well as the service period
- This feature is not suitable for recurring transactions with invoices, e.g. with sequential invoice numbers (such as SaaS subscriptions, newspapers)
Purpose:
This feature enables clean, automated accounting – even without a classic invoice.
